Nashville, Tenn., May 12, 2008 – The multi-Platinum selling rock band Switchfoot will perform “This Is Home” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tomorrow (May 13). “This Is Home” was written and recorded by Switchfoot for the highly anticipated Walt Disney Studios and Walden Media May 16 theatrical release, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The song will be heard in the body of the film and over the end title credits of the film, and will appear on the Original Walt Disney Records Soundtrack CD releasing May 13.
“The Tonight Show” appearance follows the May 2 debut of Switchfoot’s new “This Is Home” video on the homepage of Disney.com, which receives over a million visitors per day. Many more fans have seen the video at AOL.com, www.switchfoot.com and other online sites. Switchfoot also played the song live for a national TV audience on the Gospel Music Channel television network as part of the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards telecast. The performance can be found at YouTube.
Switchfoot recently taped the “This Is Home” music video in Los Angeles with director Brandon Dickerson who filmed Switchfoot’s most recent video, “Awakening,” from its current, acclaimed studio album, Oh! Gravity..
In conjunction with local market promotions around the film designed to build excitement toward the release of the new “Narnia” movie, EMI CMG Label Group has released the “This Is Home” single to AC and CHR Christian radio. The Air 1 Radio Network, heard on 70 stations and 106 translators in 35-states, is among the first to add the new single, along with stations in Chicago, Nashville, New Orleans, Jacksonville, Toledo and many other markets. Radio Disney is also adding the song as Hollywood Records and Red Light Management/Entertainment are working the single at mainstream radio formats.
As the song gains attention at broadcast outlets nationally, Switchfoot is performing “This Is Home” live in concert this summer and will feature it on the “Music Builds” tour that hits major markets across the country beginning Aug. 21 in Detroit, MI. The “Music Builds” tour benefits Habitat for Humanity and also features Third Day, Robert Randolph & the Family Band and Jars of Clay. The internet pre-sale for the tour begins May 14 with tickets on sale to the general public May 16 through www.LiveNation.com.
